Quality or characteristic of a measurement or Observation to accurately represent a specific geographic location, time Period, or environmental condition.

Notes

  • WIGOS metadata standard defines representativeness as the extent of the region around the Observation of which it is representative.

The extent to which a set of measurements taken in a given space-time domain reflect the actual conditions in the same or different space-time domain taken on a scale appropriate for a specific application
