Information Package

1 Definition​

Logical container containing optional content information and associated preservation description information, with packaging and package description information for identification and search.

Notes​

The Information Package contains the Content Information and associated Preservation Description Information which is needed to aid in the preservation of the Content Information. It has associated Packaging Information used to delimit and identify the Content Information and Preservation Description Information. It may have been packaged for a specific purpose such as the Submission Information Package, the Archival Information Package and the Dissemination Information Package.
